Blown Glass by Ryan Paulger

Ryan's recent work is an exploration into the possibilities that arise when allowing the medium to naturally shape itself. Rather than force the glass into a predetermined form. The work is the product of meticulous preparation that involves making parts, allowing them to cool, cutting and grinding them down, and building assemblies that are then brought back into the hot shop for their final metamorphosis. Ryan seeks to nudge the glass in a general direction, allowing it to deform, change, and shape itself with minimal guidance.
